Neil Cavuto, a familiar face on Fox News for nearly three decades, has officially signed off from the network. His departure has stirred mixed reactions, ranging from sharp criticism to heartfelt praise.

Writing on Truth Social, Trump called it “GOOD NEWS FOR AMERICA!” He didn’t mince words, claiming Cavuto was “the Lowest Rated Anchor on Fox” and adding, “Should have happened a long time ago!” Trump’s comments reflect a rocky history between the two, as Cavuto wasn’t shy about criticizing him during his presidency.
Trump’s supporters quickly followed his lead. Emerald Robinson, a former Newsmax reporter, poked fun at Cavuto, tweeting, “Farewell to Trump hater and all-around beta male Neil Cavuto at @Foxnews and the one brown suit he wore on the air for 30 years! Let’s sum up his broadcast career in two words: NOBODY CARED.”
Others joined in, including Juanita Broaddrick, who wrote, “Wonderful news!!! Sad sack Cavuto leaving FOX after 28 years. One of the biggest Trump haters on Fox.”
But not everyone was critical. Many in the media world had only good things to say about Cavuto. CNN media analyst Brian Stelter called it “the end of a Fox era,” while journalist Michele Tafoya praised Cavuto’s work, saying, “I will miss his wit and curiosity and standards. Hate to see him go.”
Howard Kurtz, another Fox News host, highlighted Cavuto’s resilience, noting his ongoing health battles. “He has made enormous contributions… a first-class human being who is gracious to everyone,” Kurtz wrote.
Connell McShane, now with NewsNation, also shared his admiration. “He has always set a professional example for the rest of us to follow. Plus, he’s a TERRIFIC human being, and he’s hilarious. All the best, Neil,” McShane wrote in his post.
Even Fox News itself released a warm farewell. “Neil Cavuto’s illustrious career has been a master class in journalism,” the network said in a statement. “We’re extremely proud of his incredible 28-year run with Fox News Media.”
