Cloe Workman, 20, was arrested on Thursday and charged with two felonies: endangering a child and domestic violence.
According to court records obtained by WKRC, the video shows Workman allegedly spitting on her baby’s face, pushing the child down by the head, and squirting dish detergent into the baby’s mouth. The shocking footage was reportedly sent to the baby’s father and later circulated widely online.
The alleged incident took place on Monday, with a complaint filed the next day after the video was seen by multiple people who called for Workman’s arrest. The Loveland Police Department and Child Protective Services launched an investigation that led to Workman initially being charged with child endangerment. By Wednesday, the domestic violence charge was added for the same incident, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer.
The little girl, who is just over a year old, has been reported safe and is currently in the custody of Workman’s grandparents. In an effort to help the child’s father gain full custody, the baby’s uncle has started a GoFundMe page to raise funds for legal representation.
Workman was booked into the Hamilton County Jail but has since been released on her own recognizance. She appeared in court on Friday, where a judge ordered her to wear a 24-hour monitoring device and remain under house arrest until her next court date on January 6.
