A pregnant woman is recovering in the hospital after being stabbed multiple times by a pizza delivery driver who was angry about the tip she received. The incident happened on December 22, 2024, at the Riviera Motel in Kissimmee, Florida.
The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office reported that 22-year-old Brianna Alvelo, the delivery driver, became upset after receiving a $2 tip for a $33 pizza order.
Later that evening, she returned to the motel room with a masked man armed with a gun. The pair forced their way into the room, and Alvelo, armed with a knife, attacked the woman, identified as Melinda Irizarry, stabbing her 14 times. The woman was staying in the motel room with her boyfriend and 5-year-old daughter.
Irizarry suffered a punctured lung and multiple wounds to her chest, arms, legs, and abdomen. She only learned she was pregnant while being treated for her injuries at the hospital.
Alvelo was arrested on charges of home invasion, attempted murder, kidnapping, and aggravated assault, while the male suspect remains unidentified. Authorities are asking anyone with information to contact Crimeline at (800) 423-8477.
