Police responded after family members noticed signs of foul play. Authorities believe Brandon shot Jennifer before turning the gun on himself.
Reports indicate their young daughter was at home during the incident, but no details about her condition have been shared.
Jennifer’s obituary mentions she had two daughters, Gracie and Kylie Sheffield. A GoFundMe has been set up to support the girls, aiming to raise $15,000.
Jennifer and Brandon were in the process of a divorce, which Jennifer had discussed in a TikTok video posted on December 10.
In the video, Jennifer described her husband as “incredible” and said their divorce was amicable, with their daughter’s wellbeing being the priority.
She expressed gratitude for Brandon’s support, saying they were splitting responsibilities equally.
However, Jennifer also shared her concerns about adjusting to life as a single mother on a limited income, mentioning the challenges of buying a home and managing finances. She asked for advice on saving and making money.
Jennifer’s friend, Faye Lott, expressed disbelief about Brandon’s alleged actions. “He’s never been a violent person that I was aware of,” Lott said. “I’ve always loved him for how he loved her. It’s hard to understand something we’ll never be able to.”
At the time of her death, Jennifer was studying for her Master’s in Medical Sciences at Mississippi College and dreamed of becoming a doctor.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
