Police say the trouble began when Treminio got involved in an argument between his daughter and the boy. According to an arrest report, the driver’s daughter tried to fight the boy, but the boy’s older sister stepped in to stop it.
Afterward, Treminio allegedly told the boy to never touch his daughter and pulled him by the hair.
This alleged incident happened on November 20, 2024, on Northwest Seventh Street, according to local reports.
The 6-year-old boy, described by police as “very articulate,” told investigators about the incident and said he had been bullied multiple times before. He claimed that, on at least one occasion, Treminio encouraged other kids to bully him.
In one instance, another child allegedly slammed the boy onto the bus floor, causing him to hit his head. The boy’s 10-year-old sister confirmed the story, telling investigators about the hair-pulling and how her brother was body-slammed by older kids. She also said Treminio told her not to tell their parents what had happened.
The boy told his parents about the incidents, and they reported it to the police on November 21.
Treminio was arrested on Thursday during a traffic stop. He was taken to the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center with a bond set at $7,500. However, as of Friday, jail records did not list him as an inmate.
During his first court appearance, Treminio stood before Miami-Dade Circuit Court Judge Mindy S. Glazer.
