The incident came to light on December 23 when Fort Lauderdale police checked on D’Amore’s welfare at his jewelry business located at 6245 N. Federal Highway. Officers had to force their way into Suite 323, where they found D’Amore dead on the floor.
Surveillance footage showed D’Amore arriving with Milosevich on December 20. Both entered the suite, but only Milosevich was seen leaving. He was carrying a small bag and other items wrapped in a towel or blanket. He left the building two hours and 42 minutes later.
An autopsy revealed D’Amore had bruises on his neck, back, and head.
When questioned by police, Milosevich confessed. He said he had picked up D’Amore for dinner before they went to the jewelry business.
Milosevich claimed he had been paying D’Amore for a $20,000 Rolex, having already given him $16,000. However, when he couldn’t pay quickly enough, D’Amore allegedly raised the price and refused to give him any jewelry in exchange for the money already paid.
Milosevich said this led to an argument. He admitted to hitting D’Amore twice in the throat and choking him until he became unresponsive.
Afterward, Milosevich took around 20 pieces of jewelry and a video recorder, wrapped them up, and left in his Dodge Ram truck. He later told police he dumped the stolen items into a river.
Milosevich is currently being held without bond at the Broward Sheriff’s Office jail.
