A Pennsylvania woman was arrested for allegedly inviting two boys into her home, giving them alcohol, and attempting to assault them.
According to Pittsburgh police, the incident happened on January 8 when two boys, ages 12 and 13, offered to shovel snow in front of 64-year-old Rochelle Stewart’s home... Continue reading here ▶
Stewart agreed to pay them $5 and invited them inside for hot chocolate. Once inside, she allegedly gave them alcohol, including wine and vodka, in addition to the hot chocolate.
While the boys were drinking, Stewart reportedly made inappropriate advances toward them.
Police were called to the area around 9 p.m. on a report of a burglary in progress. When officers arrived, they found the boys nearby, clearly intoxicated. The boys told police that “a lady had just got them drunk and touched them.”
When questioned separately, both boys gave the same account. They said Stewart invited them in while they were shoveling snow, gave them alcohol, and then tried to touch one of the boys inappropriately by placing her leg over his and making other advances.
The boys decided to leave but returned later to retrieve a coat one of them had left behind. It was during their second visit that Stewart called police, falsely reporting a burglary.
Police said Stewart denied the boys’ first visit, but officers found the boy’s coat inside her home along with a half-empty bottle of vodka. One of the boys also recorded a video showing Stewart rubbing his arm and shoulder during the alleged incident.
Stewart was arrested and taken to Allegheny County Jail. She faces six charges, including indecent assault, false reporting, corruption of minors, and providing alcohol to minors. She was released after posting 10% of her $1,000 bail and is scheduled to appear in court for a preliminary hearing on January 22.
