A man in Pennsylvania spent 31 days in jail after being falsely accused of attempting to kidnap and assault a 20-year-old woman in a supermarket parking lot.
The accusations turned out to be completely fabricated, and on Thursday, the accuser, Anjela Borisova Urumova, pleaded guilty to several criminal charges related to the false claims... Continue reading here ▶
Details of the False Accusation
In April 2024, Urumova told police that Daniel Pierson, 41, attacked her outside a Redner’s supermarket in Middletown Township.
She claimed he pulled her pants down and hit her in the face. At the time, Urumova had a visible cut on her lip, which she used to support her story.
Police launched an investigation, gathering surveillance footage from nearby stores and reviewing data from Urumova’s cellphone. However, detectives quickly discovered inconsistencies in her story.
The Truth Uncovered
When confronted by authorities, Urumova admitted she had made up the entire story and had not been attacked by anyone.
She also confessed that she had specifically targeted Pierson, describing his vehicle — a dark blue Ford F-150 with a “thin blue line” sticker and visible dents — because she had seen him before and thought he was “creepy.”
According to Urumova, the cut on her lip was actually caused by an incident with her grandmother, who threw a plastic object at her during a misunderstanding at home. Urumova later used the injury to falsely accuse Pierson of assault.
Impact on the Victim
Due to Urumova’s false accusations, Pierson was charged with multiple felonies and spent a month in jail before authorities cleared his name. All charges against him were dropped, and he was released.
Urumova’s Guilty Plea
Urumova has pleaded guilty to seven criminal charges, including:
- False alarm to an agency of public safety
- Tampering with or fabricating physical evidence
- Two counts of filing false reports
- Three counts of unsworn falsification to authorities
A judge has postponed her sentencing to allow for a presentence investigation.
This sort of thing happens a lot. Even worse claims, but usually the false accuser doesn’t get time for it.
She needs to be in jail where she can find Jesus Christ.cause she need him she need help.shr don’t need to be out here with people.
She needs to serve consecutive terms for each individual charge hopefully she’ll serve a minimum of 10 to 15 times the amount of time he spent in jail after goodtime has been applied because of her lies.
310 to 456 of actual days sitting & working in jail might teach her & let her be an example to others that file false charges against innocent victims, that this will be what happens to anyone that files false charges against another.
She’s also opened herself up to a lawsuit too.
