A Maryland woman, Keyona Dillon, 34, has been arrested for murdering her 11-year-old daughter, London Olsen. Police say Dillon also killed the family’s pets to scare the child.
Dillon went to a neighbor’s house and told them her daughter was dead in the basement. When police arrived, they found London with blood around her mouth and bruises all over her body.

There was also a mark on her neck, and blood on the floor. Police believe she was strangled with a plastic drain cleaner.
When police questioned Dillon, she acted strangely, talking about child sex rings, transgender people, and the Proud Boys, and said people were trying to set her up.
Police found out that Dillon believed her daughter was having a sexual relationship with the father of her other three children. However, they found no evidence of this. They also found no signs that anyone else had been in the house.
Inside the house, police also found four dead pets: a dog, a rabbit, and two cats. Dillon admitted to killing the animals to threaten London and make her “tell the truth” about the made-up relationship.
Dillon’s 5-year-old daughter told police she saw her mother kill the pets with a hammer and her knee the night before London’s murder. The 5-year-old also said she saw her mother choking London in the basement.
At a court hearing, Dillon said she would represent herself and claimed her rights had been violated. She refused a public defender. The judge ordered a mental health evaluation for her.
London’s aunt said she had been calling child welfare authorities for days before the murder because she was worried about Dillon’s behavior.
She said a welfare check was finally done on January 22nd, but it was too late, as London was found dead the next day. The aunt is trying to find out why action wasn’t taken sooner, as she believes her niece’s death could have been prevented.
Dillon is being held in jail without bail.
