In Michigan, a 5-year-old child opened the front door to a police cadet while holding a loaded gun.
The cadet was delivering a legal document to a house on Inn Road on Saturday, January 25th. At first, the child answered the door with a large kitchen knife. When the cadet asked for an adult, the child came back with a loaded handgun, which the cadet took away.

Police officers arrived and found two men and a woman inside. They were arrested and questioned. Five children, between 6 months and 8 years old, were also in the house. Because of the incident and the poor condition of the home, the children were taken into the care of Child Protective Services. One of the children was taken to a hospital due to health concerns.
Police are planning to file charges related to weapons and child neglect.
It was also reported that a man was arrested at the same house on January 12th for alleged domestic violence. The father of the woman who was arrested said his daughter was living there with the father of one of her children and his friend. He also said that his daughter had previously called the police because she said she had been beaten at the house.
The woman’s father told reporters that his daughter was a single mother of five trying her best after her child’s father threw out all of their belongings. He said he loves his daughter and grandchildren and wants them to be a family again. He is now trying to get custody of his grandchildren.
