A Las Vegas man is accused of threatening to kill his girlfriend on video before shooting her execution-style—then claiming it was self-defense, prosecutors say.
Markeem Benson, 29, allegedly told 33-year-old Renise “NeNe” Wolfe, *“I just want to kill you”* in a doorbell camera video on December 22. Hours later, she was dead, shot four times in the back of the head while lying on the ground in a fetal position, according to investigators.

Multiple surveillance videos reportedly show Benson at Wolfe’s apartment that night, wearing different clothes and cleaning up blood. Wolfe’s body was later discovered by Benson’s father, who then called police to say his son wanted to turn himself in.
At his arraignment, Benson claimed Wolfe attacked him and that the shooting happened during a struggle, but prosecutors say the evidence tells a different story.
Just hours before the murder, Benson had promised Wolfe’s mother he would “take care of her” and get her home safely after a family party. Her family says he had always seemed like a loving boyfriend, checking in on her regularly and stopping by her workplace.
Emotions ran high in court, where a fight broke out between Wolfe’s family and Benson’s relatives. Wolfe’s father, a former Las Vegas police officer, was briefly detained after confronting someone who allegedly taunted their grieving family. No charges were filed over the altercation.
Benson, who was already on probation for attempted robbery, has been denied bail due to his criminal record. He remains in jail as he awaits his next court appearance on February 6.
