Santiago, who is from Aurora, now faces charges including first-degree murder, robbery, unlawful use of a weapon, and child endangerment. The shootings happened on January 23, and authorities in Missouri and Arkansas have been investigating the case.
According to police, Santiago drove to the Aurora Police and Fire Facility at around 1:45 a.m. on January 24 and called from the parking lot to report that she had killed her estranged husband, Troy Huffman, at her apartment. Officers arrested her on the spot and found Huffman dead in her home.

While in custody, Santiago reportedly admitted to traveling to Arkansas earlier that day to shoot the father of another one of her children and a woman he was dating. The man was critically injured, while the woman died. Santiago then drove back to Aurora and turned herself in, though police remain unsure why she chose to do so after committing the crimes.
Aurora Police Chief Wes Coatney told reporters he believes the motive was tied to custody disputes involving her two victims. “I’m glad she turned herself in, but I wish she had come to us for help before doing this,” he said.
Neighbors were shocked by the violence. Karla Rodgers, who lives next door, said her daughter was home during the shooting but didn’t hear anything except some banging on the bathroom walls. “It’s heartbreaking that something like this happened so close,” Rodgers said.
Police say Santiago’s child endangerment charge relates to her daughter being present during the Arkansas shooting. Thankfully, the child was unharmed.
Santiago’s son, who she shared with Huffman, was not involved in the incidents. Santiago is currently being held without bond at the Lawrence County Jail.
Rodgers also mentioned that Santiago had seemed nice at first but had started threatening her last year, and she suspects drugs may have played a role in her behavior.
