She also faces misdemeanor charges, including contributing to the delinquency of a minor and resisting arrest.
According to police, Palacio used her teenage son, who is believed to be between 13 and 15 years old, to help her break into the man’s apartment and steal a jar containing $1,300 in cash and a $200 carton of cigarettes.
The burglary allegedly happened on November 13 in Little Havana, Miami. Police say Palacio and her son forced open the apartment door.
A Ring security camera reportedly captured the boy, with his face covered by a towel, breaking the door and letting Palacio inside.
Palacio, also wearing a mask, is said to have covered the camera after pointing out where the cash jar was.
The man, who had been in an on-and-off relationship with Palacio for about 10 years, identified her as the suspect.
Both Palacio and her son were arrested on January 7. While the son gave a statement to the police, details were not released since he is a minor and was not officially charged as a co-defendant.
When questioned, Palacio reportedly became loud and uncooperative, especially when shown the Ring video.
She is currently being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center in Miami-Dade County, with her bond yet to be set for the burglary charge. A hearing is scheduled for Friday regarding her misdemeanor charges.
