Donald Trump’s family is expected to play a less formal role in his second term compared to his first, but some members will remain key figures in his political team as unofficial advisors.

Melania Trump
Melania, Trump’s wife, returns as First Lady and plans to live in the White House full-time. She will continue with traditional First Lady duties, including hosting state dinners and supporting her personal initiatives, such as her campaign against online bullying.
Melania is known for her independence, often skipping political events, and stirred controversy in the past with her choice of a jacket that read, “I really don’t care, do you?” during a visit to a migrant children’s shelter.
Donald Trump Jr.
Trump’s oldest son, Don Jr., is a favorite among Trump’s supporters and a key figure in the MAGA movement. His podcast, Triggered, is popular with the president’s base, and he reportedly influenced the selection of JD Vance as vice president.
Despite his close involvement, Don Jr. will not take an official role in the White House, choosing instead to continue his position as an executive vice president at the Trump Organization.
He recently ended his engagement to Kimberly Guilfoyle, but she will stay connected to the family, serving as ambassador to Greece.
Ivanka Trump
Ivanka, Trump’s eldest daughter, has stepped away from politics to focus on her family. She was a senior advisor during her father’s first term but has stated she won’t return to the White House to avoid the toll it could take on her children.
She had already signaled her decision to step out of public life when her father launched his 2024 campaign.
Eric Trump
Eric Trump, Trump’s second son, has been deeply involved in his father’s political and business careers. Like his older brother, he serves as an executive vice president at the Trump Organization and has been a vocal supporter at rallies and in media appearances.
His wife, Lara Trump, who previously co-chaired the Republican National Committee, is now pursuing a music career.
Tiffany Trump
Tiffany, Trump’s daughter from his marriage to Marla Maples, stayed mostly out of the public eye during her father’s first term.
While she occasionally appeared at campaign events, she chose not to speak at the 2024 Republican National Convention, breaking her pattern from previous elections. Reports suggest Tiffany is expecting a baby and plans to stay away from politics.
Barron Trump
Barron, Trump’s youngest son, is now 18 and has taken a more active role in his father’s political activities. He advised his father on connecting with Gen Z voters and played a surprising part in the 2024 campaign.
For instance, he suggested Trump appear on popular YouTuber Adin Ross’s channel. Barron, who is six feet seven inches tall, is currently studying at New York University.
In-Laws
Jared Kushner, Ivanka’s husband, was a senior White House advisor during Trump’s first term and worked on the Abraham Accords. Although he is not returning to the administration, he will serve as an informal advisor on Middle Eastern affairs.
Jared’s father, Charles Kushner, and Tiffany’s father-in-law, Massad Boulos, will hold official roles as ambassador to France and Middle East advisor, respectively.
Overall, Trump’s family remains closely tied to his political and business endeavors, even as some members opt for less visible roles in his second term.
