Around 10 p.m., the social worker finally spoke with Osmon. The conversation became heated, with the two arguing about who would pick up the child.
Osmon reportedly said she was “not dealing with this s— tonight” and hung up. The social worker told police that Osmon sounded drunk.
Early Sunday morning, police went to the couple’s home. Both Osmon and Scheda admitted they had gotten drunk and passed out while their daughter was at the hospital.
Osmon told police her daughter had bitten her during their earlier argument. She also claimed the hospital didn’t contact her about her daughter being ready to leave until 2:52 a.m. on Sunday, but she couldn’t prove it.
Both parents were arrested and released after posting $1,500 bail each. They are not allowed to drink alcohol or contact their daughter without permission from Child Protective Services. They are due in court on January 29th.
