On November 9, 2023, deputies responded to a call about an infant in cardiac arrest at a home in Newnan, about 40 miles from Atlanta. When they arrived, Creel led them to a back bedroom where they found her baby, Carsynn Creel, unresponsive. A deputy attempted CPR and noticed severe burns and discoloration on the right side of the baby’s body.
Creel told police that she had been trying to warm her son’s feet with a hair dryer but accidentally fell asleep. When she woke up, she found him unresponsive and called 911. However, investigators later discovered a marijuana smoking device on the back porch, and an indictment claims she was under the influence of drugs at the time.
Nearly a year after the tragic incident, Creel was arrested again in October 2024 for driving under the influence. Police pulled her over for reckless driving, and she was reportedly so intoxicated that they had to stop her sobriety test for safety reasons.
She was booked into Coweta County Jail on January 24 but was no longer listed as an inmate as of Thursday. It is unclear if she has a lawyer at this time.
