Cops received several calls Saturday night for a disturbance at an apartment complex after Fletcher jumped out of a second-story apartment window.
Officers went inside the apartment from which he jumped and found a 19-year-old woman and a 2-year-old boy stabbed to death. Officers took Fletcher into custody. He was released from the hospital Tuesday and brought to the jail where he remains on a $3 million bond. His next court date is scheduled for March 13.
Police have not released a motive for the murders.
The family identified the deceased woman as Hailey Miller. Officers have not released the name of the deceased child but said he was Fletcher’s son. Miller was not his mother but does leave behind a toddler son, a GoFundMe page said. The fundraiser described Miller as “a hard working mother, always looking to further her education/career.”
“She was dedicated to giving her son the best life possible,” the page reads. “A life filled with love and care. Hailey’s bright spirit, kindness, and unwavering love for her child touched everyone who knew her.”
The fundraiser has raised north of $20,000 in donations as of Tuesday afternoon. The funds are for funeral expenses and her son.
Local ABC affiliate WTNH spoke with neighbors who described the chaotic scene that unfolded Saturday night.
“I heard someone scream ‘No no no.’ I was looking out the window wondering what was going on,” neighbor Moss Hanley said. “I was kind of in denial at first but I knew right then and there it was bad and was definitely a murder.”
People couldn’t believe that someone would hurt a woman and child.
“The fact that it’s a woman and a child its honestly sickening to me,” neighbor Ben Hanley told the TV station.
