Tesla is making steady progress on its Semi truck production facility near Giga Nevada, according to Dan Priestley, Senior Manager of the Tesla Semi program.
While the pace isn’t as fast as larger projects like Giga Shanghai, the new factory is gradually taking shape.
Priestley shared an update on the factory’s progress on the social media platform X. He posted a photo from his visit, showing several Tesla Semi trucks, including one without its roof air deflector. His visit likely gave him a closer look at how the construction is moving along.

A video posted by Tesla Semi supporter @HinrichsZane also highlighted the factory’s progress. The video, shot on September 6, 2024, captured aerial footage of the construction site, showing significant developments.
Panels were being installed on the northwest corner, more steel beams had been erected, and concrete had been poured inside the covered section, marking the early stages of the factory’s buildout.

Interestingly, the video suggests that Tesla is working with BZI, a Utah-based steel construction company known for its innovative building methods. BZI’s specialized equipment, like the Panel Table and MezzMaster, is being used at the Tesla Semi factory to streamline the construction process.
As construction moves forward, it’s clear that the Tesla Semi factory is starting to take shape, becoming an exciting project to watch.
