Tesla has announced details for its upcoming Robotaxi event, set to take place on October 10, 2024, in Los Angeles. During this event, the company will unveil its much-anticipated Robotaxi vehicle and share updates on its progress in autonomous driving technology.
Tesla is offering retail shareholders a chance to attend the event. To participate, shareholders must register and verify their Tesla (TSLA) stocks by September 17, 2024. The highlight of the event will be the introduction of the Tesla Cybercab, a self-driving vehicle built on a smaller platform than the Model 3 and Model Y. It is expected to mark a significant step in Tesla’s vision for autonomous transportation.
According to Morgan Stanley analyst Adam Jonas, Tesla may also showcase its Full Self-Driving (FSD) technology during the event. Jonas speculates that attendees might even get to experience rides in the new Cybercab, though with a driver still present.
Interestingly, Tesla plans to offer two versions of the Cybercab. One will be a fully autonomous model without a steering wheel, designed specifically for the Robotaxi fleet. The other version, which may include a steering wheel for everyday use, is rumored to be called either the Model 2 or Model Q. This version is expected to cater to the general public.
