Tesla has just released a new video highlighting its latest “full self-driving” (FSD) technology, which is now becoming available to more customers who have purchased or subscribed to this advanced driver-assist system.
The video demonstrates that FSD (Supervised) can handle city driving with minimal human input, managing complex situations like detours, narrow spaces, and unprotected turns.
However, it also includes a reminder that drivers must stay alert and be ready to take control at any moment. This caution has been a constant in Tesla’s ads for FSD, even as the technology becomes more advanced.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk is enthusiastic about the new FSD feature, calling it “magical” in his comments on X (formerly Twitter). However, reactions to the video have been mixed. Some viewers complained that they haven’t yet received the latest update, while others criticized the choice of platform for the ad, noting that many users are already familiar with the system’s features.

The FSD technology has faced challenges, including difficulties working in tunnels. Reports indicate that Tesla vehicles still struggle with one-way tunnels despite being labeled as “full self-driving.”
Tesla is heavily investing in improving FSD technology, including the development of the Cortex supercomputer cluster at Giga Texas and the upcoming $500 billion Dojo supercomputer in Buffalo, New York. These efforts are crucial, especially with the upcoming launch of the Robotaxi.
Earlier this year, Tesla made significant progress in China, gaining approval to deploy its driver-assistance system and securing a mapping and navigation deal with Baidu.
The company also addressed data security concerns, which had previously led to restrictions on Tesla vehicles in certain areas. As China increasingly adopts advanced driver-assistance systems, Tesla is well-positioned to expand its presence in this growing market.
