A doctor from Beverly Hills has been accused of drugging and raping an employee, and investigators believe there may be other victims.
Babak Hajhosseini, 42, founder of the Wound and Burn Centers of America, was arrested on November 26 and charged with sexually assaulting an unconscious person, according to the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD)... Continue reading here ▶
Hajhosseini was released on bail on November 29, but a grand jury later indicted him on December 23.
The charges include two counts of rape involving drugs, one count of raping an unconscious or sleeping person, one count of oral copulation by use of anesthesia or controlled substance, and four counts of oral copulation of an unconscious or sleeping person.
The LAPD claims Hajhosseini, who also worked as a visiting doctor at Catalina Island Health, would lure employees to his home by offering them overtime pay.
In one case, investigators say he pressured a female employee into drinking alcohol, which caused her to pass out. He then allegedly sexually assaulted her and recorded the incident.
Although Hajhosseini is only formally charged in one case, police believe there could be more victims and are urging anyone with information to come forward.
Hajhosseini has pleaded not guilty to all charges. His legal team has denied the accusations, calling them “false and salacious.” They claim to have evidence supporting his innocence, including polygraph test results. His attorneys have not provided further comments.
