“What do you make of the fact that, at the upcoming inauguration, you’ll see some of the richest Americans, like Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg, and Jeff Bezos, in prime seats?” Karl asked. “It doesn’t really seem like the forgotten men and women Trump talked about before.”
Bannon responded confidently, saying, “I’m not surprised. They’re there as supplicants, not as oligarchs.”
He explained, “As soon as Zuckerberg said he’d been invited, he jumped at the chance. Then everyone else followed, trying to get in. From our perspective, President Trump has defeated the oligarchs. They’ve surrendered.”
Bannon emphasized that Trump’s influence had humbled these wealthy individuals, framing their presence as a sign of submission rather than dominance.
